A.C. ELECTRIC PLUG-IN 3 R.PM
.
MIRROR BALL MOTOR
For Disco Balls, mobiles etc.
Or as a general all-purpose
Ceiling Turner
For home window displays, trade shows, DJ's, etc., ad infinitum
This is a basic, time-tested and highly reliable ceiling mount mirror ball motor
.
It's not always a consideration, but it may be important to you: these are
quiet
.
A motor we used to sell (and discontinued years ago) had an annoying hum; others also created a distracting gear noise.
But, not this one, which is why we've stuck with it ever since despite the higher cost.
The engineering and construction of this unit is rock solid, and provides reliable turning power/torque
for objects up to about 6 or 7 pounds
, or roughly what a typical 16 inch Disco Ball weighs in at.
Picture at left:
Thia gives some perspective, in relation to a typical 8 inch Mirror Ball.
Past buyers have found myriads of objects to suspend underneath.
Historical uses based on buyer feedback
:
Crystals of all kinds
Advertising displays
Art objects
Store sale signs
Window displays
Disco Balls
Christmas, Halloween and Easter decorations
School displays
Science fair exhibits
Etc ad infinitum.

Comes with a thick, heavy cord and 3-prong plug.
If needed, you can pick up a 3 prong to 2 prong adaptor at any hardware store (about a dollar).
Rotation rate
: a leisurely 3 RPM.
Generally, most AC motors I've seen in this category turn at a dizzying
5 RPM, but this little gem turns at a circumspect
3 r.p.m.
, which you'll find much more visually appealing than (in our opinion) a much-too-fast motor doing 5 RPM.
3 RPM is just the right turning rate for 99% of possible applications.
Picture at left
:
Pre-drilled mounting holes make for easy installation.
The cord is a modest
2.5 ft
, so you'll want to add an extension cord (unless there just to be a ceiling mounted socket nearby).
And, last but not least, it comes with an
'S' hook
for hanging your item
, so you'll be up and running in no time.
Size
:
4.25 inches diameter, and about 1.5 inches thick
Power consumption
:
zilch (where zilch = about
4 watts
. Not much more than a night light).
Note that this is
110v US current
, so it'll work fine in the U.S. and Canada.
However, if your country uses 230v or 240v, you'll need a voltage converter from 230v to 110v, available in any electronics or travel store. Consult an electrician to be certain you're getting the right one.

Buyer Quote
:
“Tell the truth-it was in the mail BEFORE I ordered, right ?”
Or…
“Seller employs delivery methods years ahead of our time”
Plus…
“Dude, the quickness of your response borders on scary, but I certainly appreciate it.”
And this, just in
:
“Can’t believe this. Immediately after I hit the ‘pay now’ button,
my doorbell rang. The package was at the door. Go figure.”
