Original German K98 Bayonet 44ASW with 42asw Scabbard
Original German K98 Bayonet 44ASW with a 42asw Scabbard. This is a late war item with 44 asw markings on blade. Blade has been sharpened. Point is bunged-may have been retipped. Spine shows use with nicks and dents. Bakelite grips in good condition- no cracks or chips. Grip screws look okay too. Flash guard shows definite use and is bunged up also. This is not collector grade but a good example of a late war bayonet- good for display or reenactment. Push button works. Scabbard is marked '42ASW' one side & has a four digit number on other side with a small lowercase script letter (f?). One tiny ding on scabbard hanger side about halfway down. Lots of finish loss where frog once was. Only about 50% overall original finish left with some patina and some rust spots showing through. ALWAYS study our photos-they describe best.
