WWII Horster 43asw German Matching #s M84 K98 Mauser Bayonet w/Scabbard & Frog

Description

WWII German Mauser M1884/98 Bayonet with Scabbard and Frog. Ricasso is marked "5804" over "a" on one side and on the reverse is "43asw" which stands for Eu.F. Horster. The wood grips are solid with some scratches and nicks. The blade has been heavily sharpened (very sharp), it lloks like it has been heavily polished also but there are still some light age spots. The pommel has a double Waffenamt mark "WaA519"

Lock button is functional. One side of the pommel has pitting. The scabbard has faint matching marks to the bayonet "5804" on the frontside and on the backside is "43asw". The scabbard is solid with a couple dents on the lower third, there is pitting with minor surface rust throughout, and the ball finial is Waffenamt marked but is illegible. The leather frog shows wear, the stitching is tight, it has an "o", "g", and "41" on the backside. Length of the blade measures 9 3/4" (1" wide x 3/16" thick spine), length of the bayonet is 15", overall in the scabbard it is 16", and the frog alone is 9".
